Makerbot 2x firmware
Another problem that I have to consider is updating the firmware. Here are the details for correlating the wires for the Discvo3ry with the MakerBot Replicator 2X stepper motor driver:. On our own Makerbot 2x Mightyboard: B- 2B Pin 2: B 1B Pin 3: A 1A Pin 4: So the Discov3ry stepper motors should attach as below to the Extruder A output: MakerBot recently updated their firmware to allow access to more of the printing parameters.
Maybe it is worth trying this first. When the Makerbot is printing, the motor on the Discov3ry turns clockwise, then turns counterclockwise in very small steps back and forth motion. I hooked up the plunger mount with the allen key, and the rod no longer seems to move in any way though the stepper continues to turn.
Your printer is over extruding. To fix this subtract the distance from the extruder to the mark from mm to get your current move length and use the proportion below to calculate your proper steps per mm. Insert you calculated target steps per mm into the M92 command in place of the current E value then disconnect and reconnect to your printer.
While the cube is still on the bed measure the X and Y dimensions then plug these values into the same formula you used for the extruder but using the target value 20mm. Remove the cube from the bed and measure the height of the cube. Once again use the proportion from before but using 10mm as the target value. Finally replace the Z value in the M92 with the one you have calculated, save this change then disconnect and reconnect to your printer.

DocMooney I appologize for the delay, I just learned about Fritzing, and wanted to draw some nice schematics.
But time got away from me. We have all the Replicator speed setting at maximum and it still remains slow. In Makerware, adjust the filament to about 0. This will trick the system into pushing more in a shorter time. You may need to edit this value in the text file as it will be outside of the suggested values for makerware. Let me know how this goes. Thanks for any of the help.
